In our example, you subtract 2 from 9, which results in 7 being the range. All that’s left to do is find the difference between these values.

In the example below, it’s the numbers 2 and 9. Now you need to select the lowest and the highest value. Use the union symbol \(\cup\) to combine all intervals into one set. It helps if you start from the smallest value first. At the right end of each interval, use ] with each end value to be included in the set (filled dot) or ) for each excluded end value (open dot).At the left end of each interval, use [ with each end value to be included in the set (solid dot) or ( for each excluded end value (open dot).If we understand the question to refer to the numbers printed on the tiles, the range of 3,5,7 is 7-3 4. Identify the intervals to be included in the set by determining where the heavy line overlays the real line. According to, one meaning of 'range' is the amount, number, or type of something between an upper and a lower limit.Given a line graph, describe the set of values using interval notation. A square bracket indicates inclusion in the set, and a parenthesis indicates exclusion from the set.

The endpoint values are listed between brackets or parentheses. Interval notation is a way of describing sets that include all real numbers between a lower limit that may or may not be included and an upper limit that may or may not be included. \) which is read as, “the set of all x such that the statement about x is true.” For example,
